Jacob Shaw

“My name is Jacob Shaw. I am a senior at Detroit Pershing. I have a 2.8 GPA in my core classes. I am on the honor roll because of my last 2 report cards. I had a 3.6 and a 3.16 GPA. I have five sisters and one brother and we all live with my mother and father.

“This year I am the Captain and starter of a team that has been ranked number two in the State of Michigan. Our team is currently in the state tournament and out of 128 teams, there are only eight of us left. Our team has three Nike All-Americans and I am an Addias All-American.

“I am the third leading scorer on the team and average 13.4 points, 7.8 rebounds.  I also lead the team in assists with 4.7 per game. I made the All-East team and All City. I would like to attend either Loyala of Chicago, Houston or Eastern Michigan when I graduate.”
